Planet Zips SpinD @ ATC and Banchetto after the party

Fire, Flowlight, Friends and Fooood!

These 4 F's completed my night as we celebrated November SpinD at Arts in Taguig City in Bonifacio Global City then we ate at Banchetto in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City. It was a wonderful night indeed!

What to expect in a SpinD event? Of course, colorful flowlights, amazing fire performances and lots of surprises from Planet Zips. What more to expect? A performance from PZ students. I didn't bring my poi and fire set because I expected that this will happen. Actually it was a stupid move 'cause everyone there can lend me their poi, and not bringing my own poi is not an excuse at all. So that's it, I can't escape, no choice but to recall all my poi moves. Our performance went well thank God, whew! Well, the rest of the event is history.

After party, Kyusi Urban Poistas got hungry, so we decided to go to Banchetto. It is an overnight street food fiesta in Ortigas Center every friday until saturday morning. Supposedly, I'll just order a light meal just to fill something in my stomach. But the food there were all mouth-watering, eye popping goodies from every corners of that place. I digested a slice of deep dish pizza, quarter pounder burger and banoffee pie, light meal huh?. It was a poi-tastic night with all of my PZ friends, I had fun I must say. I went home happy and with a full stomach. :)

Philippine National Police General Hospital

I can't believe time flies so fast and now is the end of my training @ PNPGH. I had a great experience, met new friends and I did learn a lot. At first, I thought that i will not survive this because 3 months is too long, but believe me, I experienced separation anxiety on the near end part of my training.

"always intact and infusing well" that's our group motto, we may have differences when it comes to points of view or ideas. Still our friendship will remain solid and intact. I enjoyed my training at PNPGH, well thanks to these guys!

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the problem Science has with GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his new Christian students to stand
Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, you believe in GOD?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD good?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?
(Student was silent)
Professor : You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD Good?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from?
Student : From...GOD...
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil?
(Student did not answer)
Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who created them?
(Student had no answer)
Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe The World around you. Tell me, son...have you ever seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the problem Science has.
Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't...
(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events)
Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat,
Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero
Which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that.
There is no such thing as Cold.
Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat.
We cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy.
Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.
(There was pin-drop dilence in the Lecture Theatre)
Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as
Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?
Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of
Something.
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light...
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its
Called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is,
You would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?
Professor : So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student : Sir, my point is, your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed? Can you explain how?
Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue
There is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are
Viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and
Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.
To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that
Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing.
Death is Not the Opposite of Life, just the Absence of it
Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from
a Monkey?
Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process,
yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the
argument was going)
Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at
work and Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor,
Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir?
Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?
(The Class was in uproar)
Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the
Professor's brain?
(The Class broke out into laughter)
Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's
brain, felt it, touched or smelt it?...
No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable
Protocol, Science says that you have No Brain, sir. With all due respect,
sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The Room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face
unfathomable)
Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir...Exactly!
The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH.
That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.
That student was ALBERT EINSTEIN.

Spindependence @ CAFE MONDIAL

June 26 '10

It was a fiery night at Cafe Mondial as Planet Zips Philippines invades the place for their monthly poi gathering known as Spindependence.

Planet Zips holds monthly SpinDs in different locations around Manila. It aims to help spread the love for poi even further by inviting other poi spinners in the metro to come jam, interested newbies to try out free beginner workshops, and to give PZ Poi Academy students and customers of PZ Products a chance to meet, make new friends, share tips and most of all - to perform and show their talents to friends and family. It is Planet Zips' hope that Spin-D will one day become the main gathering for all poi enthusiasts in the city.

My first ever impromptu embarassing performance. It's me on the right side. half of my performance was fixing my tangled poi. lol :D

I had a great time, met new friends and saw incredible performance from all the sensei of PZ and some students. It was a blast, I am looking forward for July SpinD.

Free. Flow. Go.

Want to play fire with me?

I've found this new activity and it is called POI/FIRE Dancing aka zipping. I fell inlove with this kind of art when I saw it on the television and the first thing that went through my mind is.. "that's hot! I wanna learn that". *Big Grin :D

Photobucket

So I searched the net for those who offer poi dancing classes here in the Philippines. I've found one on Multiply and it's called Planet Zips. Planet Zips is a poi company that teaches poi dancing and they also sell poi products.

At first, it feels akward because all your body parts are all uncoordinated. But once you get the hang of it, it'll be much easier. You just gotta be ready to be hit hard by the tennis balls (it's what they put inside the sock for practice purposes) when your poi collides or your hands goes the wrong direction. I hit myself multiple times in the head, neck, back, legs and my left eye. Ouch! But that's fine, "No pain, No gain!"

On my first class, I really had a great time spinning poi and I even met wonderful people. I'm very much excited to attend my next class this sunday. I hope to continue this and not quit. So that I can achieve my ultimate goal - to perform fire zipping with shirts off! haha(it's as if I have perfectly sculpted pecs and abs. oh well, who says i'm not allowed to dream). Just kidding, that's only secondary, of course my primary goal is to show my artistic side using poi.

I find this passion as artistic, fun, sexy and risky all at the same time. I wish that I'll be good at it and be able to share this with other people. :]

Who am i?

I want to create my first blog by introducing myself. I know Some of you here are strangers and some know little things about me. I'm an introvert type, I take things to myself especially on my personal stuffs. iono but i'm kinda shy person and people misunderstood me as snob, which i'm not! I'm just too shy to approach you first and start a conversation. Now, i'm trying to change this attitude and so, here are some facts about me. ^^

The History

I was born on February 11, 1989 at Lanting Hospital (now Casaul General Hospital) in Quezon City, Philippines. I am a premature baby boy (my mom said that maybe it's because of her diarrhea after eating pineapple and milk which induced her early and unexpected labor:]) and I was so small, I was like as big as my dad's hand. They named me Aron Mark Gaylon Soriano, they said those names came from the characters in the bible which I don't questioned further. Although I was prematurely born, my parents said that I was strong that I don't need incubation and in a matter of days me and my mom were discharged.

21 years later...

Now, i'm a grown-up. I finished my baccalaureate degree at Our Lady of Fatima University with the course of Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I've already passed my Nursing Licensure Exam, so that means i'm a full pledged nurse. Well, my problem now is the Philippines' lack of job opportunities for nurses, that's why I still don't have a job. But i'm sure that soon I'll get that dream job! haha. I just have to continue all my trainings for me to become a more competent nurse. I am now enjoying my life, with my friends and family. I want to try and experience everything that interest me to be able to learn new things. I face trials everyday, but I take them positively 'coz I know it'll help become a more mature person. :)

who am i?

i am a son

I am the eldest son of Mr. Rolando and Mrs. Edna Soriano. They are both pastors and they also work in a school. I love my parents very much and I know that they love me too. I owe them everything I am right now, I dedicate to them every achievements I had. I am grateful having them as my parents.

i am a brother

As i've said, i'm the eldest and being one is not an easy thing. I take the responsibility when my parents are away from home. I have one brother and twin sisters, namely Roland Jay-R Soriano, Karla Mae Soriano and Karish Mae Soriano. Though we fight and argue a lot, still we love each other so much.

i am a friend

My friends are the one whom I can lean on in times that I feel down and defeated. They are the one whom I share with my moment of truimphs and success. I love hanging out with them, having simple talk and crazy laughs. I love my friends and I value them so much.

i am a nurse

Yes I am! When I was young, I never thought of becoming a nurse as my career. But as I grew older, I realized that being a nurse is my real calling. It's not an easy job because there is no room for error. You hold in your hand the life of your patient. This is my passion... to help those people who needs my service.

i am a Christian

I am a Christian but this doesn't mean that I am holy. I confess that I am a sinner, but by God's grace i'm forgiven. He has been my constant companion though I don't see Him physically, yet deep inside I know He's always with me and never leaves my side. He's my guide and my strength in times of trial and difficulties. I love Jesus and He loves us too, that's why He sacrifies His life and died on the cross for our sin.

i am a Filipino

I am a pure blooded pinoy and a proud citizen of my country. It may not be a wealthy country, yet we truly are world class. I am a responsible citizen and a true filipino in thought, in word and in deed.

i am unique

Ugh! I hate it when people say that I look like somebody or act like somebody. Yea, I may have the resemblance but still I am different from them. We are created differently, So that means, I have my own way on how to carry myself. I have my own way of thinking, even my own characteristics, traits, habits, attitude and talents. I am myself and not somebody else, don't compare me with anybody. I am Aron Mark Gaylon Soriano and I am UNIQUE.

i am human

I'm not god, not even a super hero. I commit mistakes and choose wrong decisions, I am a subject for error. i fall, i get hurt, i bleed, i cry but then i will stand up and smile. that's basically how life is, and how it should be. I am only human, I have my strong and weak points, I have my good and bad side. Love me despite my flaws, and I will love you more. ^^ (please don't mind my typos and wrong grammars, thanks!)

i am a dreamer

I am a person full of dreams, not only for myself but also for my loved ones. Dreams are what makes me motivated, it what keeps me going. I have many plans for myself and for my family, and I know that soon all of these will come true. I just have to believe that I can and push harder to achieve those dreams.
